You can get a nice meal from this quest by.

Once the rooster is dead.
do skin rooster,get corpse,house,give corpse to wife
You will get A plate of home-cooked food.
You can get a knife from the kitchen sink by doing the following.

You can complete this quest with an absolute minimum of 20 Riding, however there is a very high chance of failure when taming the horse (which would require you to keep retrying to tame the horse). With 40 Riding you are guaranteed to tame the horse every time.

Once you have pulled up the rope you will see You successfully pull up the rope and see that it was tied to a bucket. The bucket is full of water. You dump it out and untie the rope from the bucket., and you can continue.
do get bucket,barn,further,e,fill bucket with oats,out,out,unlatch gate,gate,latch gate,tame horse
You will need at least 55 endurance in order to perform this (and it will drain 50 endurance). If you get the message The horse gets spooked and backs away from you. then you failed to tame the horse, and you will need to try again or increase your Riding skill. Once you get the message You successfully tame the black stallion. you can continue.

If there is is A colt in this stall then you will need to find another stall to tie him in. If not then you can skip the next command.
