Help out a hermit deep in Mirkwood.
A sturdy quarterstaff.
Jarlnoth is being pestered by wolves, find a way to get rid of them and prove it to him.
The A clipping of nightshade can be used to poison food in order to poison someone gradually (or eaten directly if you want to instantly die).
Jarlnoth the hermit is a hermit of many talents and can cure almost any poison or venom. If you are poisoned and wish to be healed you can simply go to him and do the following to be healed at a cost of 50 gold.

If Jarlnoth is not there, then you can do the following to get same quarterstaff as a reward.
do n,search under bed,get quarterstaff
There are also another couple of items inside his house you can obtain if he is not there.
do n,get box,drop box,get necklace from box,get pelt
There are two ways to complete this quest, the first is very simple, go and kill the wolves.
do w,cave,kill menacing wolf
Whilst killing the large wolf every 10 seconds you will be attacked by one of the other wolves, so it may be better to kill the smaller wolves first. Once the menacing wolf is dead then skip to the commands which start "get fang from corpse of menacing wolf".
If you decide to do this quest the more involved way (which requires almost no combat), then first you will need a knife of some sort, then do the following.
do ne,wield knife,cut nightshade
You will see You carefully cut off a small piece of nightshade., then continue.
do sw,get string,w,build trap,e,w,kill rabbit
When you have killed A small rabbit trapped in a snare (It only requires one hit to kill so it should only take a couple of rounds).
do wield knife,skin corpse,drop pelt,get corpse,doctor corpse with nightshade,get meat,cave,feed wolf with meat
The A very large menacing wolf will then look very ill and be immediately killed by the other A large grey wolf bares its teeth at your presence.. When you see The wolf eats the meat that you gave it. A strange look crosses its face, and it looks as if it is about to collapse. The other wolves sense this, and attack their leader, for in this pack only the strongest shall lead. When the dust clears, there is nothing left of the former pack leader but pieces, but you search through and find a fang. you can carry on.

Jarlnoth the hermit will then thank you and give you your reward.
