  • Locate three hidden fragments of an old tablet, assemble them to help out a curious Dunlending. Then offer him some help to obtain an item which when placed in the correct place at the correct time will open the ruins for you.

  • The first two rooms you are searching for the tablet have 2 places it can be, both places will have an item (or gold) of some sort. If you find the tablet first, you can uncover the second place and still receive a small reward of some sort (for instance a gem).

  • You mostly don't have to kill the various An orc worker wandering around here but they do get in the way a bit so it might be worth doing so.

First you're going to have to find A padded specimen box, often there is one lying around on the floor, but if not there are 2 other options. One of the 3 An orc worker who wander this area will be carrying one, simply kill him for it. Otherwise look for A tall dunlending in dark robes who also wanders the area, once you find him.

    ask dunlending about box

    He will give you one.

Now, head back to where you started.

    do ruins,w

Now wait till you are not busy (or out of combat).

    wriggle rock

If you see Ouch! You scrape your finger painfully, but feel like you could try again. then retry the command. Once you see You wiggle and tug at the chunk of rock, then scrape and scratch around it trying to pry it loose. Finally, after you've managed to get your hands and fingernails thoroughly dirty, you pull the chunk of stone loose! you have succeeded. You will either get A piece of broken tablet or one of several other items. If you got the tablet you can carry on and skip the next part. If you did not get the tablet you need to find a A worker's shovel (some of the An orc worker carry them). Once you have the shovel.

    dig rubble

You will now get the piece of tablet. Make sure you have A padded specimen box in one hand and the other hand free.

    get tablet

Now time to get the next item.

    w

Now as before, the tablet can be in one of two places.

    2reach into crack

The first time you reach you will get bitte. After that you will either find a small amount of gold or the next piece of tablet. If you found the tablet you will have a short scene which ends with Just as you pull the box clear of the crack in the fountain, it crumbles to dust and splinters in your hands. Its contents, a very fragile shard of a tablet and a worthless rusty metal latch for the box, are all that remain.. If you did not find the box then do the following.

    loosen block

Once you have found the tablet, make sure you have A padded specimen box in one hand and the other hand free.

    get tablet

Now onto the final piece of tablet.

    do n,kill orc

Once An orc worker is dead make sure you have A padded specimen box in one hand and the other hand free.

do s,camp,3transfer tablet to table, assemble tablets

After a short scene, A tall dunlending in dark robes will come in and say a short speech which ends in He sobs, and holds his head in his hands. 'Oh, this amulet is a curse! I'd gladly give it away if someone would offer to assist me...'.

    do assist abraxus,out

Now you have A beautiful ithildin-coated mithril amulet you are ready to open the ruins.

do move bushes, place amulet into obelisk

You will see You take hold of the mithril amulet and try to fit it into the round indentation on the obelisk. The size of the depression exactly matches the amulet, and you have a fit! As soon as the metal comes in contact with the stone of the obelisk, a bright flash momentarily blinds you. When you can see again, you notice that the amulet has been permanently fused into the obelisk! and you will gain your quest point.

If you want to actually get into the ruins you need to wait until the sun sets. You can use the following command to check what time of day it is.

    daytime

When the command says It is late in the evening in Middle-earth. it is close to sunset. Wait around and you will see The obelisk suddenly starts to glow brightly! and after a short period you will see The ground starts shaking even more violently and one of the large stone slabs begins to slide back. The stone slowly slides away until it finally reveals an entrance into the ground.. The entrance is now open and you can head inside to forge a ring if you so desire.
