Find Simon somewhere on the roads around Bree, then offer to help him and infiltrate the lair of the bandits who stole his crest.
There are a lot of extra things to do inside the bandit lair once you are inside (An intersection in the Mine).

You can challenge some of the bandits to a darts competition.

If you lose then A bandit stands here, playing darts will take 5 gold from you. If you win then the bandit will attack you. You can repeat this with each of the bandits in the room. When you beat the bandit you can take the gold you lost plus 5 more from their corpses. You can also get A small dart from their corpses which can be thrown at an enemy for some extra damage (Currently bugged).

You can get some gold coins from the beds in Bandit living quarters.

Finally you can get A gleaming knife from the armoury.

An enormous and dangerous looking man stands here will appear and take the knife.

When he is dead you can take the knife from his corpse.
First off you are going to have to find Simon sits here looking very sad. He appears randomly on the roads around Bree.

You should discover him on the road somewhere. If he shows up as Simon happily frolics around then the quest is out and you will have to wait. When you have found him.

Now you are ready to infiltrate the lair. First you will have to travel to the Belegost signpost (The City of Belegost). Once you are there.

Now you have 2 options. If you can pick locks then you can kill A rather well kept slender man (Goril) and then pick the chest open. This is the easier option combatwise.

Now you can skip over the next part.
If you do not want to kill Goril (or you want more experience).

When Korrin, leader of the bandits stands before you is dead.
do pull wardrobe,get key,w,unlock chest with simple key,drop key,open chest,get crest from chest
Now both routes remain the same.

You will now get your reward and quest point from.
