  • Description

Explore all of Moria to find a priceless ancient axe.

  • Carack-Amarth, the axe of doom (Unique).

  • After Getting inside Moria do the following.

    do 2w,14n,4w,ne,2u,ne,4e,17s,sw,2s,2sw,2s,15e,n

  • Search all of Moria to find 6 coloured keys on random monsters. Then search several storerooms around the area to locate a stone gear. Once you have everything find a place where with six coloured keyholes and obtain another key from inside. Then explore the dwarven residence and find a way to open an ancient tomb to claim your reward.

  • Carack-Amarth, the axe of doom is an extremely powerful weapon which can be wielded in either one or two hands and can cause your opponent to bleed. Once the weapon becomes degraded (after being repaired and sharpened) it cannot be reset.

The coloured keys are extremely rare, there can only be two full sets in existance at any time. Also there will only ever be one set on monsters at a time (If you have five different keys and noone else has any then a full set will spawn on the monsters and there will only be one the key you are missing around.

  • OK, first you're going to want several things.

A knife of some sort will come very handy (I assume you have one).

    A staff of some sort.

A light source (you're going to be here for a while).A cloak and pack (to carry some things).

First off check whether the quest is in, if there are orcs inside the Dwarven residence where this quest is located then the quest is in, otherwise it is out and you would simply be wasting your time gathering all the pieces you need.

If the quest is in you're going to need to explore all of Moria to locate 6 coloured keys (A small red key, A small cyan key, A small yellow key, A small blue key, A small green key, A small purple key).

Unfortunately these keys are held by somewhat random monsters spread throughout Moria. There are twelve different types of monsters and one object you need to examine.

Once you have found a key on a particular monster or object then you will not find any more keys on the same type of monster or object.

Lets start with the lower level (what I'll refer to as Moria level 1).

First off (and easiest) you need to look for A pile of dwarf bones.

It can be found in The Road of Prosperity and A long road. When you find one.

    rummage through pile

If you see You rummage through the bones, but find nothing. then you need to move on and find the next one.

If you see You rummage through the bones and find an odd key! then you have found one of the keys.

All of the remaining keys are to be found on monsters.

    A Troll hunter

This can be found in the following rooms The Road of Prosperity, A long road, The Path of Wealth. When you find one you should look at it, if it is carrying a key then kill it and take the key. If not then move on.

The next type of monster is actually four different types of Orc (if you find a key on one of them then there will be no more keys on all of them).

A large Orc warrior, A tall Orc swordsman, Sneaky-looking Orc warrior, Orc warrior. When you find one you should look at it, if it is carrying a key then kill it and take the key. If not then move on.

That ends level 1 of Moria. The next types of monster are all on level 2 of Moria. To get there after Getting inside Moria.

    do w,14n,4w,ne,2u,ne

This level is probably the easiest level to search as all of the monsters are inside the various numbered halls.

The first monster is A strong orc warrior.

It can be found in The Fifth Hall. When you find one you should look at it, if it is carrying a key then kill it and take the key. If not then move on.

The next monster is A very strong orc.

It can be found in The Sixth Hall. When you find one you should look at it, if it is carrying a key then kill it and take the key. If not then move on.

The last monster on level 2 is An extremely ugly troll.

It can be found in The Fifth Hall and The Sixth Hall. When you find one you should look at it, if it is carrying a key then kill it and take the key.

Now we move on to the last (and most dangerous) level of Moria. Level 2 of Moria has many automatically attacking monsters and some dangerous traps. To get there after Getting inside Moria.

    do w,14n,4w,ne,4u,s

Once again, be very careful exploring this level.

The first type of monster here is A battle-scarred orc stands here.

It can be found in A dark road and The Seventh Hall. When you find one you should look at it, if it is carrying a key then kill it and take the key. If not then move on.

The second type of monster is An orc scouts out the area, looking for enemies.

It can be found in A narrow tunnel, A dark road, The Seventh Hall and The Ninth Hall. When you find one you should look at it, if it is carrying a key then kill it and take the key. If not then move on.

The last type of monster is An orc sentry stands guard here.

It can be found in A dark road and The Eighth Hall. When you find one you should look at it, if it is carrying a key then kill it and take the key. If not then move on.

Six of those twelve types of monster will have keys. It will likely take you quite some time to track down all the keys but once you do you are ready to carry on.

First we need to exchange our 6 coloured keys for a large, weird-looking key. The place to do this is on the second level of Moria. After Getting inside Moria.

    do 2w,14n,4w,ne,4u,s,sw,3w,nw,3w,nw,5w,sw,2s,5e,se,ne,e,se,2e,d,e,2se,s,sw,se,s,sw,se,s,d,sw,se,2s,se,3s,5w,turn sculpture,chamber

There are traps along this route, if you would like to avoid them (they will damage you) use the next alias instead.

Once you are here you should run the following (I assume here that you have all of the keys in a pack).

do get red key from pack, insert red key into red keyhole, turn red key,get cyan key from pack, insert cyan key into cyan keyhole, turn cyan key,get yellow key from pack, insert yellow key into yellow keyhole, turn yellow key,get blue key from pack, insert blue key into blue keyhole, turn blue key,get green key from pack, insert green key into green keyhole, turn green key,get purple key from pack, insert purple key into purple keyhole, turn purple key

This should unlock a door in the room.

do open stone door, get large key

Now that we have the final key we are also going to need A stone gear. This can appear in any one of six A dusty storeroom dotted around Moria.

In each storeroom the procedure is exactly the same. Once inside do the following.

    3search piles

If you see Rummaging through the junk, you spot a strange stone. Pulling it closer, you notice it is in fact shaped as a gear; it might be a part of some age-old dwarven machine. then you have found A stone gear you are looking for and no longer need to keep searching.

The first storeroom is actually before you get into the main area of Moria.

    From Lothlorien signpost.

    do 6w,s,7w,7n,nw,n,2nw,6w,2sw,w

The second storeroom is in the first level of Moria. After Getting inside Moria.

    do 2w,6n,nw,21w,4s,2w

The third storeroom is on the first level of Moria. After Getting inside Moria.

    do 2w,14n,4w,ne,2u,ne,10w,sw,5s,sw,w,n

The fourth storeroom is also on the first level of Moria. After quest Getting inside Moria.

    do 2w,14n,4w,ne,2u,ne,3e,se,4s,se,14e,s

The fifth storeroom is yet again on the first level of Moria. After quest Getting inside Moria.

    do 2w,14n,4w,ne,2u,ne,10w,sw,20s,4se,s

The last storeroom is on the most dangerous level of Moria, level two. After Getting inside Moria.

    do 2w,14n,4w,ne,4u,s,sw,3w,nw,3w,nw,5w,2sw,2w,n

There are traps along this route, if you would like to avoid them (they will damage you) use the next alias instead.

    do 2w,14n,4w,ne,4u,s,sw,w,search floor,move straw,2w,nw,3w,nw,2w,search floor,search bone,track wire,search pile,3w,search floor,track wire,wield knife,cut wire,2sw,2w,n

Once you have both A stone gear and A large, weird-looking key you are ready to continue. Head back to the Dwarven residence where we checked the quest was in first. After Getting inside Moria.

From here on out there are two ways of completing this quest. If you are moral there is only one way, and that is to kill everything first and then open the tomb. If you are an evil character you will still have to kill some evil monsters but you will can leave it until the end if you like.

For evil characters who want to fight at the end only, you can simply skip the next three killing steps.

Now we are going to have to kill several monsters, all of whom hunt and protect each other. We are going to drag them all to the entrance of the quest (where they hunt off) and fight them there. if at any point you need to heal you can simply head east to do so.

    e

Now we are ready to fight the Orcs.

    do 2w,kill orc,e

You will be attacked by A large orc guard and A fat orc guard who will hunt you and protect each other. Once they are both dead and you have healed up.

    do 2w,n,kill orc,s,e

You will now be attacked and hunted by A tough orc guard, A burly orc guard and An orc captain. When they are all dead and you have healed up.

    do 2w,2n,kill orc,2s,e

You will now be attacked and hunted by A bored orc and A sleepy orc. When they are dead we have killed everything dangerous in this area.

We are now ready to pick up our evil questers again.

    do 2w,2n,2w,tunnel,3e,kill snaga

When A whimpering snaga is dead (regardless of alignment they will attack you anyway later so you may as well kill them now).

    kill snaga

When A small snaga is dead you are now ready to open the tomb. I will assume you have A stone gear and A large, weird-looking key in a pack somewhere.

do examine marks, pry panel, get gear from pack, replace gear, get large key from pack, insert oddly shaped key into keyhole

Now we have a combination lock to break. Fortunately there are only eight different combinations.

You can turn the key three times, each time you can turn it either left or right. You then need to wait to see if you have unlocked the tomb.

If you see Suddenly, you hear strange noises coming from inside the stone door; just as if many pieces of stone were struck against one another. The key in the keyhole starts turning by itself, and after a while returns back to its original position. Looks like the door will remain locked for the time being. then you have entered the wrong combination and should try the next.

When you see Suddenly, you hear strange noises coming from inside the stone door; just as if lots of pieces of stone were struck against one another. Some ancient dust falls from the ancient door frame; looks like some heavy stone bolts were removed. It appears that the door has finally been unlocked! you have unlocked the door and are ready for the next step.

    The various combinations are.

do turn key left, turn key left, turn key left

do turn key left, turn key left, turn key right

do turn key left, turn key right, turn key left

do turn key left, turn key right, turn key right

do turn key right, turn key right, turn key right

do turn key right, turn key right, turn key left

do turn key right, turn key left, turn key right

do turn key right, turn key left, turn key left

Once you have unlocked the tomb you now have to open it (here is where we need the staff or stick, I will assume you have a staff and it is in your pack).

do get staff from pack, rotate round stone with staff

Now you have to wait until you see With a loud noise, the huge stone door comes to a stop. Apparently the gear mechanism cannot move anymore. However, it has been opened wide enough to allow easy access to whatever lies behind it. You stop rotating the round stone..

Now if you did not kill the Orcs earlier you will have some more work to do. A tough orc guard, A burly orc guard and An orc captain will rush into the tomb and An orc captain will take the axe and wield it.

    tomb

If you did not kill them earlier you will now have to kill them, otherwise you can skip the next command.

    kill orc

Once they are dead (or you already killed them).

    do get axe,wield axe

You have now completed the quest.
