Explore an underwater cave.
A mighty shield of steel or A graceful silvery composite bow or A dark sinister hornbow or A magnificent yew recurve bow (Which bow depends on alignment) or A cluster of cedar arrows.
Wait until the tide is out, follow a ledge and then dive into an underwater cave.
You can get A dull iron bracelet whilst you are on the island.
do swim nw,dive
If you see You dive down into the dark water but realize it is pointless and resurface. then either the bracelet is out (unlikely), or you have failed the random check (more likely). Unfortunately the chance of success is quite low. Each attempt will cost you 10 endurance to try.
The bracelet itself is not worth much, however you can get A radiant citrine topaz from it by doing the following.
unfasten gem
This gem can be sold to the Gem Dealer in Minas Tirith for 500 gold (A tall man is here, relaxing part of MT6: Opals for Gem Dealer).
Inside this quest is An old fisherman who will buy fish from you depending on the amount they heal. Previously this was not particularly useful, but with the advent of the Fishing tradeskill (he is also one of the trainers for this tradeskill), you can level up fishing, and be paid for it as well. In order to sell your fish, simply give them to him.
The semi unique shield reward from this quest is primarily aimed at archers, and will increase the deflecting skill when worn.
First, it would be wise to bring some light and some healing with you. If the tide is in, when you try to climb you will see You jump on top of the wall but discover that the tide is in. The ocean is too ferocious to swim, so you stay where you are.. Once you are able to climb.
do climb,n,nw
Some of the next commands have a random chance to fail. If they do then you will fall and have to start from the beginning again.
do n,ledge,2nw,ne
Now you need to do the following.
look opening
If you see You barely can make any features of the cave opening under the water. It looks rather inaccessible right now. However, when the tide is over, at sunrise or sunset, you probably would be able to leap off the edge down there to explore it., then you have will have to wait until either sunset or sunrise and return.
Once you see The cave opening across the water looks very dark, and very small. However, if one was feeling extremely adventurous, they might even be willing to leap off the ledge down into the water to explore the small cavern., you can continue.
do leap off,cave,nw,e,ne,nw
You will now fall into the water with a message of You emerge from the passageway into a large cavern. Moving forward into the dark cave, you lose your footing and tumble headfirst into an underground lake!, once you see this.
swim island
Now you need to light your light source, once you have done this.
do wield bow,nock arrow,draw bow,pierce rope
If you succeed, then the chest will fall with a message of You draw back your bow and carefully loose an arrow, piercing the rope with a precision shot! SNAP! The chest slams into the floor with a mighty crash. The sound echoes loudly around the cavern. With a dreadful realization you notice something in the water begin to stir, and then disappear into the darkness. You begin to silently pray it was nothing more than a trick of your eyes....
Now you will have to bash or pick An ancient wooden chest open, as there is no key. Once you have succeeded in unlocking the chest.
do open chest, get bundle from chest, unwrap bundle
You will now have your reward and the quest point, however the quest is not over (you still need to escape).
do swim s,swim se
You will now get a message of The water around you suddenly begins to stir and with an overwhelming sense of dread you spot the horrid creature racing towards you! With a horrendous SPLASH! the fierce beast explodes out of the water mere feet from where you swim! The monstrous eel rushes towards you!. If you need to heal during this battle (pay attention to your endurance as you are swimming and the cost here is quite high), simply go back to the island.
swim island
When A large water creature is dead.
do swim se,sw,w,se,out,paddle to shore
