Find a man conspiring against Thranduil and slay him to take his weapon.
A Dragon staff (Also known as Runya).
Find a way past the boulder blocking the entrance and proceed through the cave past any dangers you may find there.
A Dragon staff has a special ability for wizards. You can get 50-100 damage by singing your opponent.
singe <enemy>
A crystalline shield carried by Herenvardo the mage is extremely light and durable and is comparable to other good shields.
Necromancers have a very good advantage when completing this quest as they have the spell "flame arrow". When one of the wizards starts casting fireball at you you can immediately conjure flame arrow at them to cause their fireball to explode in their face. When you see Herenvardo starts casting fireball at you! or Ambartur starts casting fireball at you! immediately do the following.
conjure flame arrow
When you finish casting you should see As the flame arrow collides with <enemy>, it causes his fireball to explode in his face!. If you only see You finish the flame arrow and send it soaring toward <enemy>, but it only grazes him. then you should leave as normal as you did not break the fireball cast.
You will probably need to have a light source for this quest.
e
Now you will need to get rid of A large boulder, this can only be done by people who can cast lightning or hurricane (mostly Wizards or Necromancers).
If you can cast lightning.
cast lightning
If you can conjure hurrcane.
conjure hurricane
After your spell completes you will see You call upon the forces of nature and out of nowhere a large lightning bolt strikes the boulder. The boulder seems to explode as pieces of it fly everywhere, some hitting you! or You call upon the forces of nature and conjure harsh winds that batter the boulder relentlessly, sending pieces of it ricocheting off the walls around you. The boulder is almost obliterated from the force, and some of the stray pieces hit you! depending on which spell you cast and everyone in the room will take a small amount of damage.
do passage,w
Here you will find Lurtz, an uruk-hai archer and An adult wolf who protects him. The archer will automatically attack elves so if you are elven you will have to deal with both at the same time. If you do not get automatically attacked.
kill wolf
When it is dead.
kill archer
When he is dead. you are ready to continue.
n
Here you will find Herenvardo the mage who will automatically attack the same way the archer does. During combat he will periodically cast fireballs which take four rounds to cast, if you do not manage to break his cast (via headbutts or similar or simply just doing enough damage) I would suggest leaving south after the third round to make sure you do not take a large amount of damage.
kill mage
When is is dead you are ready to continue.
w
Here you will find The master sorcerer (Also known as Ambartur). He casts fireballs the same way that Herenvardo does however he will also use the staff he is carrying to singe you once near the start of the combat. If you do not manage to break his fireballs you should leave east to avoid the damage. The singe is instant and unavoidable and will do 50-100 damage.
kill sorcerer
When is is dead you can simply take the staff from his corpse and get your quest point.
